| Centre hurriyat dialogue APHC not to force for make any noise over long pause | | |
Jammu, June 15 Reacting cautiously to the recent statement of the Union Home Secretary, Mr Madhukar Gupta, issued at the end of the two-day visit to Srinagar, vis-a-vis centre-Hurriyat dialogue and their participation in the round table conference a senior APHC leader Prof. Abdul Gani Bhat on Friday said that they have decided neither “to force nor make any noise” if the Government of India was not willing to have a separate dialogue “with us.” “If the centre does not want to resume its dialogue with us we can neither force it nor make any noise”, Prof Bhat said today emphasizing that the “role of the relevant political forum is imaginatively vital for ensuring stability, security and peace in the entire south Asian region.” Prof. Bhat said that there was need for drawing a line between the “masters and the surrogates’ so that Delhi and Islamabad hold parleys with the relevant political forum. He stated that India and Pakistan “cannot carry the dialogue process in isolation. Both of them have to take us into confidence because we represent the aspirations of people of Kashmir.” The APHC leader explained that in the interest of the survival of the entire south Asian region we will have to address the issues with courage, wisdom and sincerity.””our political forum,if involved in talks could rid India and Pakistan of sentimentalism Bordering insanity as far as the Kashmir issue is concerned,”he added. The Union Home secretary had reiterated Prime Minister,Dr Manmohan Singh’s stand on the issue by saying that the Government of India had invited the separatists to roundtable conferences which they had not responded adding that it was their wish to respond or reject the invitation. In fact he obliquely ruled out the possibility of having a separate dialogue with separatists. The APHC leadership is of the view that the dialogue process between the surrogates, leaders of mainstream political parties, and the centre had been going on for the last more than three decades without yielding any results. As such it had become mandatory for the Government of India to involve the separatists in the dialogue process so that a solution to the vexed Kashmir issue was hammered out.(
