| ARMY holds SEMINAR ON WATER HARVESTING | | |

As a part of the celebrations of “Water Year 2007” and with an aim to sensitise the environment with the crucial issue of development and management of Water Resources, Water Harvesting Seminar was conducted at Samba Military Station today.
The issue of lowering water table in Jammu – Pathankot region and the measures to meet future requirements of water within the available resources were deliberated during the seminar. The aspects of channeling the water sources, water harvesting by means of Check Dams, Conservation of water on roof top and the creation of bio fence were also covered.
The seminar was attended by senior Army Officers from Pathankot and Jammu region. Station Commanders of various military stations in the area gave out the plan of water harvesting in their respective military stations.
Sub Area Commander Pathankot in his closing address appreciated the efforts by the Station Commanders and directed them to execute planned projects in a time bound manner, said a PIB (Defence Wing) release.
