| Ashok Sharma demands Air, Rail link to Rajouri, Poonch | | |
Jammu | June 15
Congress Party workers in a meeting held at Kalakot, chaired by MLC, Ashok Sharma have urged upon the Central Government to extend rail and air link to twin border districts of Rajouri and Poonch of Jammu and Kashmir state..
Addressing the workers, Sharma said, with this facility there will be speedy development in there areas. He also demanded that Chingus, Panjnara, Tatapani, Danti fort and various heritage sites be brought on the tourist map of the state. He also pleaded that Pahari speaking people be granted Scheduled Tribe status, besides organizing a special recruitment drive for adjustment of youth in Police and para military forces.
Complementing the achievements of Azad Government during the last 19 months, he said people are happy with the working of the Chief Minister. He also thanked the Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh and UPA Chairperson, Sonia Gandhi for providing liberal financial assistance to the State for its speedy development..
