| PoK refugees neglected, alleges Chuni | | |
Jammu | June 15 Despite having general consensus on the issue of refugees, a humanitarian problem, nothing concrete is being done to give them their rights said Rajiv Chuni Chairman SOS International, an organization for PoK refugees while addressing a meeting here today.. He said that having gathered the first hand information from the representatives of the refugees at their meeting ahead of All Parties meeting held at Srinagar on May 11 last nothing concrete has been done to overcome the problems of the refugees. General Secretary of SOS Dr. Gurmeet Sugu speaking on this occasion said that for the refugees of 1947 from PoK, neither the times have changed nor the attitude of Central and state leadership towards the hapless refugees. They feel that they are nowhere with no consequences and their status has remained undefined in the past 60 years. Such Vant Singh a senior member SOS International has said that the organization wanted to convey that PoK refugees have substantial vote bank in the state and can play a vital role in the forth coming assembly election. Others who were present in the meeting included Y R Gupta, Injderjit Singh, Rajinder Gupta, Prof. A K Gupta, Amit Bali, Padam Nath Sharma, Paramjit Singh, Dharminder Singh, Ashwani Kumar, CP Gupta, Dr. SC Gupta, R.K. Kohli, Anil Gupta, Jatinder Singh, Arun Dr. Subhash Gupta, Vijay Sharma and Sham Thappar.
