| Congress workers hold one day convention | | Chib hails UPA’s decision to field Pratibha as Prez candidate | |
R.S. Pura | June 15 A one day convention of congress workers of RS Pura tehsil were held at village Marlia today. The convention organized by MLA, Suman Bhagat was presided over by district president, Jammu rural, Balwan Singh. The aim to hold the convention was to create awareness among the rank and file of the party about the performance and achievement of the present government led by Ghulam Nabi Azad. Addressing the workers .MLC and PCC vice president R.S. Chib said Congress party in the state is united and its leaders are fully concentrating to solve problems of common masses. He hailed the decision of UPA chair person Sonia Gandhi and of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh in nominating Smt. Pratibha Patil as a candidate for the post of President of India. He said in the upcoming state assembly election Congress party will emerge victorious and will form the government of its own. MLA, Sham Sharma in his address condemned the demilitarization demand and said Congress party is not against the demilitarization, but the time is not yet conducive for it. Suman Bhagat while expressing her gratitude to party workers in attending the convention in large numbers said, Congress party is fully committed to solve the basic problems of the weaker section of the society. She said as MLA of the area, she always worked for the betterment of the people and appealed the workers to strength the hands of Ghulam Nabi Azad. Ganesh Dutt, Capt. G.L. Sharma, S. Avtar Singh, Madan Lal Sharma, Rajinder Singh Sangat Dhanraj Khajuria, S. Pratap Singh, Anita, Amt. Kanta Devi, Inder Sudan, Nirmal Singh, Des Raj, Ashok Kumar, Armin Chand, Pavittar Singh, Krishen Choudhary, Banarasi Dass Sharma and Sarpanch Ajeet Raj of Jagtuchak also attended and addressed the workers.
