| 2 AK rifles, 1 carbine stolen from Ex-MLA's house | | Police starts departmental probe, 2 PSOs arrested | |
Kishtwar, June 15 Unidentified persons have decamped with two AK rifles and a carbine of Personal Security Officers of a former Member Legislative Assembly (MLA) from his residence. Police has started a departmental inquiry in the matter and arrested two PSOs. Well informed sources said that the guns were stolen from the house of Ex-MLA Inderwal Qazi Jalal-ud-Din on Wednesday but interestingly no FIR was registered till today. Sources told that three PSOs of Qazi, identified as Kewal Krishan, Dev Raj and Irshad Ahmed were not presently inside the house when some unidentified persons decamped with their weapon and cash from the house, on Wednesday. Constable Kewal Krishan was on leave, while two others Dev Raj and Irshad Ahmed were outside the house at the time of the theft. Intestinally police personnel on guard duty were caught unaware when thieves decamped with the weapon and cash. Sources said that after the efforts of Ex-MLA and his PSOs to trace the weapon failed a case was finally registered in Kishtwar police station today. Two PSOs Hakim Din and Dev Raj were arrested by the police and were being questioned. Hakim was reportedly on guard duty when theft took place. Police said that name of one person Amin Bhat of Mool Chitar, who was staying in the house till Wednesday, has figured as one of the prime suspect. Efforts to arrest him were on, sources added.
