13 killed seven wounded in road accident near Makkarkot in Ramban

Jammu, June 16
At least thirteen bus passengers
including a women were killed and seven others were injured when a matador bearing registration number JKO2G 5529,
travelling from Banihal to
Ramban, fell into a deep gorge near Makkarkote in Ramban.
Police and Army personnel carried out rescue
operations and extracted 13 bodies out of the wreckage of the bus.
Police said that rescue teams were immediately rushed to the spot to
shift the injured to the hospital in Ramsoo.
A senior police officer in Ramban said that preliminary reports suggested that driver of the overcrowded matador lost control over the wheels and it rolled down the hill.The bus was completely damaged
and
it took the rescue teams more than two hours for
extracting the bodies from the deep ravine. He said
that either owing to negligent driving or on account
of some mechanical fault the driver lost the control
of the steering while negotiating a road curve
