| Gill, Khuda to be empanelled for DG post shortly | | | Jammu,June 16 Two senior police officers of the rank of Additional Director General Police from Jammu and Kashmir were likely to be included in the list of officers from other states for empanelment which could facilitate their elevation to the post of Director General Police. Official sources said here today that since IPS officers belonging to 1973 batch had been cleared for empanelment last year it was the turn of those officers of 1974 batch.He said Mr P.S.Gill and Mr Kuldeep Khuda belong to 1974 batch hence were entitled to be empanelled whenever the Government of India decided to clear the officers of this batch for empanelment. Official sources said that a decision has already been taken to involve UPSC also in the selection process. According to these sources,after the empanelment of Mr Rajinder Tikoo for the rank of Director General the state Government is in favour of having a panel of names which could be considered for elevation to the rank of DG police and for that exercise empanelment was necessary. Sources said that if both Mr Gill and Mr Khuda wre promoted to the DG rank one be posted as commissioner transport the other incharge of some other wing of the police.They said that once Mr Gill and Mr Khuida were empanelled it would open avenues for two other officers holding the rank of IG to get elevated to the rank of Additional Director Police
