| Rural Development official caught accepting bribe | | |
SRINAGAR:
Today State Vigilance Organisation caught red handed Shri Abdul Majid Bhat, works supervisor Rural Development Department Block Tangmarg while accepting bribe of Rs.1500/- for executing a Rural Development work.
One Shri Manzoor Ahmad Ganai S/o Shri Abdul Ahad Ganai R/o watpora Tangmarg lodged a written report with P/S VOK stating that the said works supervisor is demanding Rs.1500/- as illegal gratification for allowing him to start the execution of work of improvement of Gham Kuhl from High school Warpora to house of Ab Rashid Ganai at Warpora, for which a work order was already issued in his favour by the BDO Tangmarg. The estimated cost of the work is Rs 1.5 lacs.
Case FIR No. 39/2007 P/S VOK was registered in Police Station Vigilance Organisation Kashmir and investigation taken up. In the course of investigation the officials of State Vigilance Organisation, proceeded to Tangmarg, laid a successful trap and accused Shri Abdul Majid Bhat, works supervisor was caught red handed while accepting the bribe of Rs.1500/- from the complainant in the premises of Block Development Office Tangmarg. The tainted money was recovered from his possession in presence of independent witnesses . The accused was taken into custody for further investigation
