| Grant ST status to Paharis, demands Pahari Forum | | |
Jammu June 16—
Accusing the government for the plight of the tribals and paharis, President of the Pahari cultural forum has strongly reiterated the demand for grant of Scheduled Tribe status to the Pahari speaking people in the state.
He criticized the coalition government of its failure to implement the promises made to the people and reflected in the Common Minimum Programme.
The forum warned the government that if their genuine demand was not met, they may be forced to come to the streets to press for its demand adding that the situation may go worst than the Rajasthan which would be difficult for the government to control.
