| BJP condemns security withdrawal of Kotwal | | ‘Arora asks CM to restore back security’ | |
Jammu | June 16 BJP strongly condemned the withdrawal of CRPF deployed at the residence of former State President of BJP Daya Krishan Kotwal at Bhaderwah. This was stated by BJP State spokesperson Ramesh Arora in Jammu today. He further added that this act of the government tantamount to expose the senior leader in militancy-affected area and alleged that the government was adopting dual standards. While adequate and sufficient security is provided to all former Presidents and other senior leaders belonging to Congress, PDP, NC and other parties, the security of Kotwal has been withdrawn even without informing him. The BJP warns of dire consequences in case any untoward incident takes place. Ramesh Arora said that Kotwal has spent 61 years of his life in active politics and remained as MLC also. On a number of occasions, attempts were made to eliminate him but fortunately he survived. Withdrawal of CRPF appears to be a calculated move to demoralize all such nationalist forces who are working in odd situation and exposing the undemocratic, unconstitutional policies of the government aimed at pleasing the separatists and is not in the interest of State as well as Nation. The government should explain immediately why discriminatory attitude was adopted while withdrawing of security of BJP’s senior leader. He said that Kotwal was provided security in early 90s keeping in view the intelligence reports and sudden removal is ridiculous as the threat perception on the life of former BJP Chief still continues, he added. He said it is also not clear as to who instructed for withdrawal of security as senior police officials when contacted expressed their ignorance about the same. The party has sent a separate letter to the State CM expressing its grave concern over the withdrawal of security and demanded immediately restoring the same.
