Jammu | June 16 As part of Public Awareness Campaign, the Samajwadi Party leaders made an extensive tour of Marh Assembly Constituency, met the people from cross sections of society and addressed meetings at Dai Chak and Nai Basti. The leaders included Ram Parkash Sharma, Secretary General, Sham Lal Mahasha, State Secretary, Preeto Devi, Convenor (SC) Morcha, Gharu Ram, Sant Ram Master and Vijay Kumar Pandey. Addressing the meetings, Ram Parkash Sharma and Sham Lal Mahasha gave a detailed account of the rights, bestowed upon the citizens under the Constitution of India, as also the rights and duties of the political parties. But regreeted, that in their pursuit to remain in power, these parties more often exploit the people on Caste and Communal slogans. Sharma and Mahasha lashed out at the political parties that they instead of fielding honest and clean imaged persons with motto to serve the Nation and the society, give mandate to corrupt and disgruntled persons who indulge in corruption an antipeople activities and demanding money for raising questions in Legislature, having complicity in illegal transportation of persons to abroad in return of money, demanding illegal gratifications in lieu of allotment of funds for developmental activities etc. As a result, the condition of the poor teeming masses, who otherwise are the King Makers under the Constitution of India, by and large remain the same, while major chunk of progress and prosperity being usurped by a few resourceful, corrupt, politicians, bureaucrats and their henchmen, they claimed. The Samajwadi Party have also apprised the people of the policies and programmes of their party which are aimed at ameliorating the lots of peasantry, labour and factory workers and others, which they claimed have made it (S.P) a party with distinction. Prominent, Social and Political activists who have announced their decisions to join the Samajwadi Party included Major Ram, Chur Singh, Bishwa Nath, Yousf Bhatti, Pappu Ram, Shamsher Singh, Raj Kumar, Raj Singh an Sheela Devi, a party release said.
