| Rasa Javedani chair at Bhaderwah campus soon: Azad | | |
Bhaderwah | June 17 Government will establish Rasa Javedani Chair at Bhaderwah Campus of University of Jammu from the next academic session. This was announced by Ghulam Nabi Azad, while releasing the Kashmiri and Urdu collection “Fikr-e-rasa” of Late Poet Rasa Javedani. Azad speaking on the occasion said that it would be a great tribute to him who bought many laurels to the state in the literary field. He also described him as a symbol of National integration and Communal Harmony. The Book release function was jointly organized by J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages and Rasa Javedani Memorial Liberary Society. Prof. Amitabh Mattoo, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu, releases the Research Journal “Tasulsul” of Jammu University (Rasa number). Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Mattoo, landed the role of RJMLS for organizing literary and cultural events in remote areas of the state. He further said that Jammu University will soon submit a detailed proposal to chief minister who is also the pro-vice chancellor for establishing a Rasa chair at Bhaderwah Campus for his approval and added that the chair would work for the upliftment of Kashmiri Languages, which are spoken in the chinab Valley. Prof. Mattoo also donated Rs. 10,000 to RJML society for further carrying its literary an cultural activities. In his introductory remark, Shahab Inayat Malik gave a brief resume of RJML Society an threw light on the life and works of Rasa Javedani. On the occasion, Rasa Award was presented to Ghulam Nabi Azad, Shamina Azad, Rafique Masoodi, Meenakshi Kilam, Azat Jamwal and others by Begum Rasa Javedani vote of thanks was presented by Tanveer Ibne Rasa.
