6/17/2007 11:40:26 PM

Srinagar, June 17: After a gap of nearly 17 years, Kashmiri Pandits on Sunday offered prayers at the historic Bhagwan Gopi Nath temple here.

Nearly 2,500 devotees, including a sizable number of migrant Pandits, performed puja at the temple in Habba Kadal on the banks of the Jhelum on the occasion of birth anniversary of Bhagwan Gopi Nath and prayed for early restoration of peace in the valley.

Many of the migrants said they prayed for peace in the valley so that they could return to their homes.
