| Babu Singh chairs JKWDC camp at Jasrota | | |
KATHUA, JUNE 18
To educate the women about financial assistant in the shape of loans to women for starting their income generating units under various schemes, a Women Awareness Camp was organized by J&K State Women Development Corporation (JKWDC) at Jasrota here today.
Minister for Youth Services and Sports Mr. Babu Singh was the chief guest on the occasion.
Among others Secretary Women Development Corporation Ms. S.S. Banno, Development Officer, Mr. Teja Koul, CDPO Barnoti Mrs. Kailash Choudhary, BDO Barnoti, Dr. Sushil Sharma, Supervisors, anganwari workers and large number of women including Panches and Sarpanches were present on the occasion.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Babu Singh congratulated the corporation for extending helping hand to the womenfolk. He impressed upon the Corporation to organize such type of awareness camps in rural areas also. He said that the Corporation should identify the deserving women before sanctioning of loan and training should be provided to the loanees. He also advocated female education to meet challenge of present globalized era.
Secretary Women Corporation make women aware about various schemes launched by the Corporation for upliftment of socio-economic condition of women. She said apart from generating awareness among the women about their rights and duties, JKWDC is arranging financial assistance in the shape of loans to women. She said the interest on loan given by the JKWDC is very low and is @ 4%, 5% and 6% on different schemes.
