| Guru Arjun Dev’s ‘Martyr Day’ observed | | |
Jammu | June 18
Martyr’s day of Guru Arjun Dev was celebrated with full religious fervour and gaiety at Bharakh in district Reasi. About 2000 devotees including people from other faiths also participated in the function.
On the occasion, Mahant Manjit Singh of Dera Nangali Sahib, who was specially invited, threw light on the life and teachings of the Guru. He stressed upon the people especially the younger generation to follow the teachings of Holy Guru Granth Sahib.
A resolution was passed by the Sikh Community requesting the Deputy Commissioner, Reasi to get the Gurudwara Singh Sabha vacated from the alleged unauthorized procession.
Addressing the gathering, Dayal Singh Wazir and Amrik Singh, members of DGPC, Jammu assured the Sikh Community of Reasi that for getting the Gurudwara vacated from its illegal occupants, no stone will be left unturned.
District Body of the district was unanimously elected with Balwant Singh as President, Ranjit Singh, Vice President Jai Singh, Sarpanch General Secretary, Sukhdev Singh Joint Secretary and Gurdayal Singh Cashier.
