| Kidnapeed girl recovered from Srinagar | | |
Jammu | June 18
A minor girl who was kidnapped from Rajbagh in Kathua district few days back was today recovered from Srinagar along with the kidnapper.
According to reports some day back the family members of 15 year old girl Shama Begum d/o Mubarkh Hussain resident of Krandi, Rajbagh lodged a complaint with the police station about the missing of his daughter. The Police registered a case and after preliminary inquiry it came to know that some body had kidnapped the girl and accordingly a police team led by SHO Rajbagh police post Karanjeet Singh under the supervision of SSP Kathua J P Singh launched a hunt to recover the girl.
Sources said two day back police booked specific information that the kidnapper had taken the girl to Srinagar and accordingly informed the police at Srinagar. After hectic search, the police succeeded in recovering the girl from Zakora area near Dal Lake along with Mohammed Sharief son of Gulzaman resident of Ramban and took both of them into custody for further interrogation.
The girl, sources said, is reported to have told police that Sharief forcibly took her to Srinagar and raped her many times. Police took the girl to hospital for medical check up and registered rape and kidnapping case against the alleged accused person. Further investigation in the case was still in progress, the sources added.
