| Children sent 2 lakh Rakhis to Air Warriors | | | EARLY TIMES REPORTER JAMMU | AUGUST 9 On the eve of Rakhsa Bandhan tens of thousands of school children from Delhi and NCR sent two lakh Rakhis to the Air Warriors and soldiers deployed in Jammu & Kashmir. The Dianik Jagran newspaper took initiative in collecting and distributing these Rakhis to Armed Forces. Abhimanyu Sharma, editor of Dainik Jagran (Jammu) along with other media persons handed over the Rakhis to Group Captain JS Kler, Station Commander Air Force Station, Jammu during ceremony organized in the station. During the ceremony a large number f school children, Senior Officers, Air Force Personnel and Civilians working in Air Force were present. One of the boxes containing the Rakhis was symbolically opened by the Station Commander. Each Rakhi carried a Soul-stirring message of an unknown sister to an unknown brother, deployed in Jammu and Kashmir region. The girl students of Air Force School, Jammu distributed the Rakhis to all Air Force personnel including NC (E) s and tied the personnel at Air Force Jammu. Various messages sent by the children were read out by the students. This ceremony was first of its kind celebrated in any Air Force Station in J&K Group Captain JS Kler expressed his gratitude and was moved by the good will messages. He mentioned that such gestures keep the morale of our Air Warriors high. He also assured the coordinators that these Rakhis would be distributed to Leh, Thoise, Udhampur and other forward location where Air Force units are deployed. The ceremony concluded and other forward distribution of sweets among al the persons.
