| NSUI awards meritorious students | | | DODA, JUN 20 The district unit of the National Students Union of India today organized a grand function in the premises of Government Higher Secondary School for Girls at Bhaderwah in memory of late Rajiv Gandhi, former Prime Minister of India to award those students who brought laurels in different examinations of J&K Board .The function was presided over by the District-President off the NSUI Mohammed Sajid Malik where as Principal of the school Altaf Hussain Khan was the chief guest. Speaking on the occasion, Principal of the school highlighted the contribution of Rajiv Gandhi towards the Indian society and said that late PM had a cherished dream to make India a great nation of the educationists, scientists and intellectualist .He said that Rajiv Gandhi always worked for the downtrodden society. The students awarded at the function included Ridha Mushtaq topper in 11th class Medical stream ,Sumaya Sheikh 2nd position holder in 11th class and Shalu Sharma of 9th class, who topped in 8th class this year in Bhaderwah . Addressing the function Malik threw light on the aims and objectives of the NSUI. He said the Union is embarking to give exposure to the students and for this purpose various camps are being held in the district. He said some intellectuals including Principal Government Degree College Bhaderwah Dr .Mohammed Iqbal, SSP Doda Manohar Singh, ASP Bhaderwah M.L.Mehra, Chairman Bhaderwah Municipal Committee Javed Azad and Assistant Commissioner (Revenue) Kishtwar Rajesh Kumar Shawan are also being awarded at a separate function being organized in the district shortly. Those who participated in the award distribution were included Javed Iqbal Lone, Vishal Kotwal, Sadiq Batt, Akhil Khole and Abhijeet Rathore.
