| Imrapur donates Rs. 5 lakh for migrant children education | | | Early Times Reporter Jammu August 9 G.H. Imrapur senior officer/ senior assistant regional director IGNOU Regional Center donated Rs. 5 lakhs for the education of migrant children of J&K state in the form of scholarship under the leadership of Rakesh Koul social worker and freelance journalist. Imrapur donated money in memory of his father late H.G. Imrapur, a freedom fighter who played an important role in imparting the education among the migrant children of J&K state and other parts of the country. G.H. Imrapur has been working for the last 18 years with the sole aim to educate the downtrodden children of migrants hailing from poor families to make them educationally forward. His services are also being recognized by the National and International Bodies and Universities worldwide. Not only that, he is also recipient of one international award, four national awards including prestigious India 2000 Human Rights protection award and Mother Theresa award and one state level Guru Kala Award including Environment and Human Rights International Millennium Award sponsored by the UNICEF, UNICED, UNESCO and IIHR. However, Rajinder Singh Chib former minister today distributed books to Pooja a class 12th migrant student from J&K state and also announced the distribution of books to other such meritorious girl students from migrant camps that are unable to pursue their studies due to financial constraints. Others who were present on the occasion were B.S. Sudhindra Regional Director Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), G.H. Imrapur Assistant Regional Director IGNOU, Dr. D.N. Verma Assistant Registrar IGNOU, Rakesh Koul and Mohini Bhatt. |
