| IT department launches Ist batch under the TRP Scheme | | | Jammu June 20— Income Tax Department in Jammu and Kashmir under a national scheme felicitated top 20s of TRPS Scheme in a special occasion. Chief guest Virender Singh Commissioner Income Tax Department gave the certificate of excellence to the toppers here today About 5000 candidates were selected out of which 3737 are ready to be under this scheme. Out of these 48 candidates are from Jammu and today top 20 students were honored on this occasion by the chief guest of the function, Virender Singh commissioner Income Tax Department and special guest was Chamber of Commerce President, Ram Sahai.. Congratulating the pass outs Virender Singh, Commissioner Income Tax, said, “These candidates are now part of the Income Tax department and they will work in active coordination with the Income tax department so that the small traders and entrepreneurs tax payer, will be able to file his tax return with in time and with ease with the help of these TRPs, trained by the Income Tax department.” He also advised these New TRPs go to the far flung areas, where income tax department have no reach, so that they can get more new clients and this will also beneficial for the Income Tax Department of India. Ram Sahai, President Chamber and Commerce of Industries in his presidential appealed to the Commissioner Income Tax, to extend TRP Scheme so that high level tax payers can also benefited through this scheme. He also demanded to publicize these new TRP candidates through the electronic and print media so that people in large number must get reach them for filling their returns. Out of these 20 students, Sonika gupta got topped with scoring around 96 % marks on all India Basis test, conducted by the private agencies with the collaboration of NIIT. On this occasion Virender Singh honored these candidates by giving them certificates issued by the NIIT and Income Tax Department.. It is pertinent to mention here that the Income Tax Department in collaboration with Finance Ministry of India had launched Tax Return Preparer Scheme(TRPS) opening avenues of employment to unemployed graduates from different streams who were trained at NIIT across country. It is entrusted upon them that once they complete their training their expertise might be useful to small traders and entrepreneurs for filing the tax returns. Income tax department received a huge response under this scheme and around 90,000 candidates were enrolled all over the country from which 50000 candidates were short listed and are getting training in 100 NIIT located in different cities.
