| World Refugees Day celebrated | | “RIK holds interactive session on KP’s return” | | Jammu | June 20 Roots in Kashmir, a frontal organization of Kashmiri Pandits today held an interactive session on Kashmiri Pandits return to the vale of Kashmir on World refugees day. This was for the first time after the migration took place in 1990, of Kashmiri Pandits from valley to Jammu and other parts of India, such a fruitful discussion on the return of KP’s to valley was discussed in breadth an length. Veer Saraf, the state president of RIK, told early times, that this was for the first time, when such a lengthy interactive session between the cross section of people including the representatives of Hurriyat participated. He further said that it was my duty to do some good work for the people of the state in general. Earlier in the interactive session, many speakers spoke on the return of Kashmir Pandit an also exchanged views on the topic. R.L. Bhat, representative from Vichar Manch, said that unless and until, the situation returns to complete normaly, there is no chance of the return of Kashmir Pandits to their native places. He further said that there is still no positive response from the majority community of Kashmir toward the issue of return. Balraj Puri, a noted journalist said, situation is slowly and steady improving in the Kashmir and it is not like early nineties. There is sea charge in the situation on the ground and added such interactions between the two community should be organized at regular intervals. Salim Geelani, representative from Hurriyat conference, while talking during the session said HC is for the return of Kashmiri Pandits to back to their home and hearth and added our organizaion is doing everything in this endeavour. Earlier also our organization holds discussion with KP Biradri at different levels, he added. Hashim Qureshi the leader of the J&K freedom Democratic Party, who was instrumental in hijacking the Indian Airlines plane to Lahore in the year 1971, said that now Kashmiri Muslims have realized that their brothers (KP’s) should return to their home with honour and dignity and added that Kashmir is incomplete without Kashmiri Pandits. There is no doubt about the terrorist activities which is still continuing in Kashmir , and other parts of world like Iraq, Afghanistan, and Palestine but this will not stop our mission to bring our brothers back to valley. He further said that even if it costs my life, I will not his hesitate in this endeavour, and added that enough is enough, now the world is changing and we all have to accommodate overselves in new environment. He opposed the creation of security zones for Kashmiri Pandits in Valley. The two films on the plights of the Kashmiri Pandits living in different camps in Jammu were screened. Prominent others who participated in the deliberations include Prof. Hari Om, Mushtaq Bhukhari, Som Nath Dabgotra, Yudhvir Sethi, Sheela Handoo, Ramakant Dubey, Prof. B.L. Koul and others.
