| J&K Cabinet Meeting postponed | | Next date of the said meeting likely to be notified separately. | |
Srinagar, June 20 The state cabinet scheduled to meet today evening at Srinagar, has been postponed probably for some political reason as PDP’s demand for troop’s reduction again started knocking doors with usual threats to pull out from the coalition government. According to official spokesman the cabinet which was scheduled to meet here today at 5.30 has been put off as some cabinet ministers were busy with the board meetings. The next date will be notified separately, the spokesman added. However, sources in civil secretariat told a Kashmir based news agency that today’s cabinet meeting has been postponed following the fresh threats from PDP to pull out from the government, if the issue of troop’s reduction was not taken seriously. “The meeting was put off as congress ministers were no more ready to tolerate the objections in transfers from PDP ministers”, a Congress leader on the condition of anonymity told the said agency, adding that Congress will not allow any reduction in troops till the situation was not conducive in the state. It is pertinent to mention here that PDP minister boycotted three cabinet meetings for the demand. Later the Center Government announced a committee for finding out some possibilities with regard to troop reduction in the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Coalition partner congress openly rejected the demand of PDP and termed it as an issue being used for vote bank. Some major reshuffle in police and civil administration was expected in today’s cabinet meet
