| Poster Row Raje in trouble: Charges framed against three in Poster Row | | | Jodhpur, June 20: Rajasthan Court today has directed the Jodhpur Police to register a case on a complaint filed by Sheetal Kanwar, wife of former External Affairs Minister Jaswant Singh, against a poster that depicted Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje as goddess of the Hindu community. As per reports the Judicial Magistrate Saroj Choudhary ordered the police station of Jodhpur city to register a case and investigate the matter. Complainant Kanwar has named BJP MLA from Jodhpur city Surya Kanta Vyas and a BJP worker Hemant Bohra, who prepared poster, as the accused in her complaint. The complaint was filed before the Judicial Magistrate Hari Vallabh Khatri, who was relieved from the post following a recent transfer and the case was then shifted to another magistrate Saroj Choudhary who instructed the police to take cognizance. It is to mention that the Legal complaint which was filed under various sections of the Indian Panel Code (IPC) has alleged that poster released on May 15, 2007; has hurt the religious sentiments of the particular community and some people. The complaint has urged the court to initiate action against those involved in the preparing and releasing of the controversial poster. Kanwar alleged that the poster depicting Raje as Annapurna Devi (Goddess of grains) has hurt the "religious sentiments of the Hindu community." Other BJP leaders likes former Prime Minister A B Vajpayee, L K Advani and Rajnath Singh have been shown as Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh -- three supreme deities of the Hindu religion -- respectively. Rajasthan ministers L N Dave and Pratap Singh Singhvi were portrayed as Kuber and Indra respectively.
