Militants appear in city, shot dead government employee
Body of missing person recovered from Shikargah-Tral

SRINAGAR, May 4 : Suspected militants shot dead a government employee in the Goos area near Hazratbal here in the afternoon. The militants managed to flee from the area after committing the offence. Reports said that 42-year old man identified as Abdul Ahad Dar resident of Goos, Astan Mohalla was shot dead by the suspected militants. Dar was a government employee and used to work in the Mechanical Engineering Department of Jawahar Lal Nehru Memorial Hospital Rainawari here. Sources said that Dar was outside his house when he was fired upon by the suspected militants who were driving a motor-cycle. The incident occurred at around 4: 30 pm and it created panic in the area. The gunmen fired some shots on Dar as a result of which he sustained serious injuries. He was shifted to the SKIMS hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead.
Dar is survived by his wife, daughter and a son. His killing assumes significance since security has been beefed up in the city as the offices under the Durbar Move are reopening here on Tuesday. Although, it seems that Dar has been killed my militants but police have launched investigations in the case in order to clear the doubts. Meanwhile, police recovered the body of missing person who had gone in a nearby jungle to collect wild Mushroom from the jungle at Shikargah-Tral in Pulwama district. A police spokesman said that body of a missing person identified as Ghulam Mohammad Bhat alias Mum Bhat son of Ali Mohammad Bhat resident of Koil Shikargah was recovered near Chari-Sangri of Shikargah forests.
"According to his family members Bhat went missing since 02-05-2015 when he left to collect wild Mushroom in the jungle. Apparently he had slipped from a cliff into a nallah. Police has started investigation under section 174 CrPC to ascertain the cause of his death. The body was handed over to his relatives for last rites," said the spokesman.
