| Locals protest against shortage of LPG | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar, May 4: Locals of Malipath and its adjoining areas today held a strong protest against the non-delivery of LPG cylinders to them by the local distributer, despite booking for the same several time in last two months. Protestors also blocked the road to register their resentment over the issue. As per the details available with "Early Times" the agitating people block Kishtwar main road for hours together and demanded immediate delivery of LPG cylinders to them. The agitating people said that despite repeated requests and protest, the administration fails to address the issue. They said people are facing lot of problem due to non-availability of LPG, kerosene oil, forest timber while there are frequent electricity curtailment further compounding problems of the people. "Kerosene Oil is openly being sold to transporters while genuine users are deprived of due supply reasons better known to official at helms of affairs," said protestors, adding, "the government had banned the sale of fire wood since last several years which is also adding problem to locals." Protestors said that this is 3rd protest by the people over this issue of shortage of fuel in a month. Thereafter on the intervention of senior officers of the administration and police who rushed to the spot and assured due action in their grievance, the agitating people lifted their blockade. |
