| Arrangements for Aghar Jitto Mela discussed | | | REASI, JUNE 21 - Arrangements for the 3-day historic Baba Aghar Jitto Mela in Reasi district commencing from June 29, were discussed at a meeting of officers held under the chairmanship of Assistant Commissioner, Reasi Mr. Bikram Singh Jamwal. All necessary arrangements of security, drinking water, uninterrupted power supply, sanitation, provision of medicines in the existing dispensary with staff and ambulance, clearance of debris from both sides of the road parking of vehicles, deployment of safai karamcharies by the Municipal Committee Katra, adequate essential commodities with kerosene oil and temporary urinals were discussed in detail. Jamwal instructed all the concerned officers to make all necessary arrangements well before the commencement of the Mela. Tehsildar Reasi will be the nodal officer of Mela who will supervise all arrangements during the mela days. The temple of Baba Jitto is situated 6 kms away from Katra on Reasi- Katra road at village Aghar Jitto surrounded by lush green Trikuta Hills in the district and thousands of devotees hailing from different parts of Jammu province and parts of Punjab pay obeisance at the Baba Jitto shrine throughout the year. Rote Uttama ceremony will be performed on 23rd and 24th June which will start at 4 p.m. and would culminate at the banks of river Chenab.
