| Member National Commission for STs calls on CM | | |
Srinagar, June 21 - Member National Commission for Scheduled Tribes Mr. Tsering Samphel called on Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad here today.
Tsering thanked Chief Minister for recommending his name for appointment as Member of the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes, adding that this shows Azad's concern for upliftment of scheduled tribes and other weaker and backward sections of the society.
Tsering honoured Azad by presenting a khatak to him.
Minister for Power Nawang Rigzin Jora and Minister for Social Welfare Haji Nissar Ali were also present on the occasion.
Samphel is a former legislator from Leh.
