Banyari Hajan getting connectivity with rest of State: Charak

Srinagar June 21 - A project costing Rs.1.45 crore under PMGSY is being taken up for construction of 4 km meter long Ghulam Prang-Bakshibal road to provide road connectivity to Banyari Hajan village of Sonawari Constituency, which is devoid of road connectivity as yet. Work on this road project was taken up today.
This was announced by the Minister for Roads and Buildings Mr. Gulchain Singh Charak while addressing a public meeting at Banyari village today. He said "it is unfortunate that village though lying in plain area of Sonawari Constituency and just 40 km from Srinagar has no road connectivity till date and added that we realize the problems faced by you since long". He said that government led by Azad has launched a massive road connectivity programme under PMGSY and Bharat Nirman Programme to connect un-connected habitations of the stat adding that all the un-connected villages would be connected with main roads up to 2009 under Bharat Nirman Programme.
Hailing the efforts of Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, UPA Chairperson Mrs. Sonia Gandhi and Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad to bring J&K back on the path of development, Charak said that liberal funding from the centre has helped the state to upgrade the damaged infrastructure. He said "our motto is to bring peace and prosperity in J&K to realize the dream of Khushal Kashmir as envisioned by Chief Minister He said that it is the prime duty of people is to act as watchdogs of developmental activities in their respective areas so that the funds are utilized judiciously.
Charak said that Rs. 9.50 crore are being spent on upgradation of 5 roads of Sonawari Constituency under NABARD which include, 9 km long Hajin-Madwan-Mukhdamayri road, 14 km long Hajjan inner links, 5 km Shadipora-Khanpeth, 5 km Harithas-Akhoonpora and 6 km Sultanpora- Shirbagh road. He said two roads namely Shilvath-Ankhul and Shilvath-Gansthzan roads are also being upgraded by way melting at cost of Rs.1.87 crore.
He said that work on construction of 210 meters long footbridge involving a cost of Rs. 2.25 crore at Asham and Sports Stadium at a cost of Rs. 2.07 crore are under execution in the Constituency and adding that these works have been taken up on the instructions of Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Earlier, Minister also inspected various ongoing works of roads and bridges enroute to Banyari Hajan including Sadikadal bridge, Hazratbal-Ashaibal-Nageen road, Ganderbal-, Mansabal - Safapora Hajjan road and gave on spot direction to concerned authorities to speed up the repair and restoration work.
He directed the engineers that Srinagar-Kheerbhawani road be completed before the commencement of Kheerbhawani Mela so that pilgrims could not face any inconvenience during mela. The Minister was assured that the road be completed within two days.
On the occasion JKPCC Youth President and MLC Mohammad Amin Bhat highlighted the decisions of the Chief Minister during last two years and said that the Roshni Act is a land mark decision which provides free of cost land to the marginal farmers of the state. He appealed the people to come forward and support the policies of Azad led government.
General Secretary Youth Congress Mohammad Iqbal Jan also spoke on the occasion and highlighted the problems of the area.
