| NSSO Jammu to hold Regional Training Conference | | |
JAMMU, June 22, 2007.
National Sample Survey Organization, Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation (Field Operations Division) Jammu in collaboration with J&K State Directorate of Economics and Statistics is going to hold the 3-day Regional Training Conference to commemorate its 64th Round of NSS w.ef. June 27.
According to the press statement, the Conference will be held in the Conference Hall of the Directorate of Economics and Statistics, Janipur, Jammu and is expected to be attended by all the senior officers of National Sample Survey organization (Field Operations Division) Jammu and J&K State Directorate of Economics and Statistics of Jammu Division.
64th Round of National Sample Survey (NSS) is dedicated to survey on “Employment-Unemployment and Migration”, “Participation and Expenditure in Education” and “Household Consumer Expenditure”.
The geographical coverage of the Survey will be conducted in whole of the Indian Union except Leh (Ladakh) and Kargil districts of J&K State (for central sample), interior villages of Nagaland situated beyond five kilometers of the bus route and villages in Andaman and Nicobar Islands which remain inaccessible throughout the year, the statement said.
The National Sample Survey Organization is collecting statistical data on various subjects as required from time to time by various central Ministries/Departments, Planners and Policy Makers. Data collected by National Sample Survey Organisation (NSSO) is also used by scholars and various organizations for research work.
