| Congress registers protests against coalition Govt at Kishtwar | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 13: The Congress party registered protest against the coalition government at Kishtwar today. They demanded better facilities to the people in terms of health, education and roads, beside compensation to the flood effected and rain effected people of Jammu and Kashmir including to the people of Chenab valley. Earlier Congress workers also held protest against GVK management for abandoning 850 MW Rattle Power Project. As per the details available with "Early Times", large number of Congress workers and supporters led by JKPCC Vice President and MLA Inderwal Ghulam Mohammad Saroori assembled at Dak Banglow from where they started march towards Deputy Commissioner's office and blocked the main road for several hours. While addressing the gathering, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori lashed out at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP-PDP government for their failure in providing compensation to the flood affected people of the state and also to the rain affected people of Chenab valley. He said that BJP government spent crores of rupees on visit of US President Barak Obama and on PM Modi's foreign tours, but fail to paid a single penny to the people of Jammu and Kashmir who are fighting hard for their survival after last year flood furry, beside due to continues rain and snowfall. Taking a dig at local Minister Sunil Sharma, Saroori said that the junior minister instead of making announcements should implement the things on ground. "Let him (MoS Revenue) to do the things practically--- I am with him as far as any developmental work is consider--- he announced multipurpose Naigard Water tunnel, release of funds for Sangpora-Viloo tunnel, Changer-Bonda tunnel, Rs. 1000 Cr for Kishtwar-Batote National Highway, several crores for Marwah-Dachhan road--- but nothing is practically visible on ground" said Saroori. He said that the government order transfer of several doctors to Kishtwar Hospital, added that hardly any doctor joins the duty and said that in case some doctors joined at District Hospital Kishtwar, after joining they proceed on leave keeping the general public at lurch. He said that the public of Kishtwar is facing starvation due to non availability of ration as government run CA&PD stores runs dry, added that due to heavy rains and snow, the crops as well as the land has been destroyed and the state government has failed to sanction the relief in favour of the poor public. He said that no payment has been made to job card holders under MGNREGA which runs into several hundred crores. He said that inhabitants Kishtwar are facing water sacristy, but the PHE Department has failed to meet the burning demand of providing water. "The District treasures run dry. All the developmental works have been stopped, the government must release the funds to districts so that developmental works could be started at an earliest," he said. He said that government has also fail to repair and restore Kishtwar-Batote road, resulted into major accidents that claims the lives of several innocent people traveling on these poor roads of Chenab valley. The Congress leader also shows great concern over withdrawal of security cover to party leaders, added that in case of any eventuality with Congress leader, the police will be responsible for the same. He threatens to launch an agitation from 30th May 2015 in case the government fails to address the genuine problems of the people. Later party leaders also submitted a memorandum to DC highlighting various public related issues. |
