| LeT militant arrested in South Kashmir | | Arms, ammunition recovered in Kupwara | |
Srinagar June 22 Security forces today claimed to have arrested a militant of Lashker-e-toiba (LeT) outfit from Kulgam district of south Kashmir, while a huge quantity of arms and ammunition was recovered in Kupwara. Official sources revealed that on specific information troops of 1st RR, CRPF-5 and local police launched search operation in the Rampora village and apprehend a militant. He has been identified as Mohd Ashraf Sheikh, alias Moulvi, son of Gh. Hassan, resident of Rampora falling under the under the jurisdiction of police station Kulgam A grenade and some incriminating documents at his instance were recovered from a hideout Police has registered a case in this regard. Meanwhile, the troops of 20-JAK Rifles during search operation recovered following arms and ammunition from the general area of Seidor-Nar falling under the jurisdiction of police station Kupwara. The recoveries included, four AK rifles, eight AK Magazines, one hundred fifteen rounds of AK ammunition, one Pistol 30 mm, two Pistol Magazines, forty four rounds of Pistol ammunition, 69 detonators and four Radio set. A case has been registered in this regard.
