JAMMU, JUNE 22 Arrangements regarding conduct of Shri Amar Nath Yatra were finalized in a meeting convened under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner, Jammu Mr. Hirdesh Kumar Singh here today. Hirdesh took stock of the preparation being made for the smooth conduct of Amar Nath Yatra. He informed that the first batch of pilgrims will be flagged off on June 30 at 5 a.m. Arrangements like registration, boarding and lodging, security, traffic regulation, drinking water and power supply, maintenance of rates of essential commodities, health, sanitation were discussed with concerned officers. The DDC apprised that ADDC Jammu Hemant Kumar Sharma would be the Nodal Officer of Shri Nath Ji Yatra. He informed that M.A.M. Stadium, Jammu will be base camp and PWD department will construct sheds for this purpose. It was decided that SSP security will make necessary arrangements of registration at Jammu Hatt and for Sadhus at Chander Bhaga Community Hall Canal road. It was decided that SE M&RE, SE PHE, SE PWD, CMO, Joint Commissioner Municipal Committee, SSP Security will ensure adequate arrangements at the lodging centres which include Chander Bhaga, Canal Road (for Sadhus), Ambedkar Hall, Jammu Local Hall, Vinayak Sabha, Geeta Bhjawan, Aggarwal Sabha, Mohyal Saraswati Bhawan, Shiv Mandir, Mini Market, Railway Station, Jammu, Ranbir temple, Sarswati Dham Rail Head Complex, Vaishnavi Dham, Central Mahajan Sabha, Dogra Saddar Sabha, Ram Temple Purani Mandi, Brahman Sabha Parade and Ved Mandir Ambphalla. It was decided that a cell at MAM Stadium will be set up and representatives of various departments would be deployed to ensure round the clock functioning of the cell. Singh directed Tourism Department to display hoardings exhibiting base camp and lodging centres, contact numbers at the conspicuous places of city including Kunjwani, Satwari, Vikram Chowk, Bus Stand, Railway Station etc. Also under the supervision of ADM/ AD CAPD, four special flying squads including AD CAPD, Health Officer JMC, Inspector Weights and Measures, Labour Commissioner were constituted to check profiteering and quality of essential commodities during Yatra period. He said that Identity Cards will be issued by SSP Security for officials detailed for duty in MAM Stadium. The DDC stressed upon SE PHE and PDD to ensure uninterrupted supply of drinking water and electricity respectively at the base camp and lodging centres of the Yatra to avoid any hindrance in smooth conduct of Yatra. Watali, AC (R) Rajinder Singh, SP Security Anita Sharma, ADC I. A. Zargar, SE PHE, PDD, PWD, CMO and other district officers of different departments attended the meeting.
