Charak inaugurates motorable bridge at Mubarakpura in Rajouri

Advocating the commitment of Chief Minister Jammu and Kashmir, Ghulam Nabi Azad to deliver good governance to the people of the state, the Minister for Road and Bridges, Gulchain Singh Charak called upon the officers to adopt honest and dedicated efforts to serve the masses.
The Minister who was on a two-day tour to Rajouri district on the concluding day was addressing series of public meetings at Gurdan Bala, Khablan and Mirza Kote today. Minister of State for PHE Dr. Romesh Sharma, Vice Chairman Pahari Advisory Board Shabir Khan, Pardesh Congress (I) Spokesman Advocate Ravinder Sharma were also present on the occasion who projected their demands.
Addressing a public gathering Charak made it clear that the government believes in ground reality rather than making false commitments to the people.
Minister for R&B said that government is fully aware of the demands of the people living in far off villages and assured that all out efforts would be made to satiate the urges of the people. He said that since Ghulam Nabi Azad took over as Chief Minister of the state a massive infrastructure development has been made in each sector. He said thousands of un-employed youth has been absorbed in services through Rehbr-e-Taleem, Rehbr-e-Zarat and Rehbr-e-Sports. During shortest span of one an a half year significant steps have been taken to address the problems of the Namardars keeping in view of their long pending demands, he added. Charak has said that thrust is being laid to provided road connectivity to the remote areas to ink these to the main roads. In this regard centre has provided Rs. 45.00 crore for construction of roads under PMGSY and number of link roads have been taken in hand for construction and hoped that these would be completed within two years.
The Minister was accompanied with Member Parliament Choudhary Mohd. Aslam, District Development Commissioner, Rajouri Rafiq Ahmed Sheik, Additional District Development Commissioner, K.L. Khajuria, Superintending Engineers, R&B. Hamid Sheikh and other functionaries of the R&B.
The Minister disclosed that aim of his tour was to ascertain the local problems so that these could be put on deliberations in the coming district Development Board’s meeting for approval in the plan for the current financial year. He appealed the people to monitor the development works so that these could be result oriented. He said present government will not tolerate the corrupt elements in the machinery who are paid for serving the people and are answerable before the people.
The Minister inaugurated a 41 meters span motor able bridge at Mubarakpura near Rajouri which was taken for construction at Rs. 12.82 lakh and upto ending March, 2007 an amount of Rs. 106.58 lakh has been utilized on it. This bridge will cover three villages viz Mubarakpura, Ladote and Sohana with the population of 5000 souls.
Earlier, the Minister laid foundation stones of two link roads one each at Sunderbani and Nowshera besides additional accommodation of the Dak Bunglow Nowshera and addressed public meetings. The Minister was told that building having plinth area of 1800 Sq feet has been completed at a cost of Rs. 17.00 lakh which comprises of two rooms attached with toilet facilities, during hall with kitchen/pantry and foyer and a stair hall. With the completion of this building the Dak Bungalow has been made sufficient accommodation.
The people besides appreciating the steps taken by the government in mitigating the problems of the people, they projected their demands like drinking water, road connectivity, electricity and employment to the educated youth. The minister gave patient hearing and assured the people that their demands will be put forth to the government for due consideration.
