| Commissioner Secretary PDD discusses Pul-Doda rehabilitation plan | | | DODA, JUNE 22 A high powered committee headed by Commissioner Secretary to Government, Power Development Bashrat Ahmed Dar today convened a meeting at Doda to deliberate upon various issues of rehabilitation plan of Pul-Doda locality who face the threat of submergence due to pondage of Chenab following completion of the Bhaglihar Project Dam in Ramban district. He was accompanied by Secretary to Chief Minister, Dr. Pawan Kotwal, Secretary to Government Revenue Department, Managing Director, JK, Power Development Corporation Masood Samoon. A presentation regarding geography of the area likely to submerge and population to be affected and also the projection of the anticipated funds required for the compensation to about 274 families of Pul-Doda habitation was shown during the meeting. District Development Commissioner, Saurabh Bhagat gave details of the buildings, religious places, shops and other business establishments to be affected alongwith the titles of land like inherited land, Shamlat land, and Khalsa Sarkar. A total of 215 structures have to be shifted in near future and the occupants will have to be compensated. A delegation of the citizens of the locality also had a meeting with the committee and put forth their views on the issues. The chairman of the committee assured that their genuine demands shall be considered at an appropriate level. Among others SSP, Doda Manohar Singh, AC( R). Natnoo, and Additional Deputy Commissioner, Farooq Khan were present in the meeting.
