| Rs. 35 lakh spent on micro hydel scheme at ‘Yangthang’ | | | Leh | June 22
The principal Secretary, Science and Technology A.S. Sidhu who is on a week long tour of Leh district today held a meeting with Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Mandeep K Bhandari.
Others present in the meeting were Project Director, Integrated Rural Energy Programme Tsering Angchok, Superintending Engineer PDD Asghar Ali, Assistant Commissioner Development Tsering Moroop and District Information Office Jamyang Namgail etc.
In the meeting Angchok gave detail of the schemes being taken under Integrated Rural Energy Programme. He said micro hydel project has been constructed at Yangthang. The micro hydel scheme provide electricity to 35 household of Yangthang and is of 25 KW. An amount of Rs. 15 Lakhs has been spent.
Sidhu earlier inspected the Yangthang Micro Hydral Project and expressed his satisfaction over the project. The project is on operation on trail basis. It would be formally inaugurated.
