Security forces today claimed to have recovered a war like store of arms and ammunition from the general area of Khumduri in Trehgam village of Kupwara.
Official spokesman said that on specific information Police and troops of BSF 95 Bn launched a search operation in general area falling under the jurisdiction of Police Station Trehgam, Kupwara. and busted a militant hideout.
The recovered arms and ammunition include 1 AK rifle, 5 AK Magazines, 199 AK rounds, 1 Pistol, 6 Pistol Magazines, 150 Pistol rounds, 75 Pica ammunitions, 3 Chinese hand grenades, 14 UBGL, 1 UMG magazine drum type, 4 Electric detonators, 5 Assembly detonators, 2 Igniter sets, 01 Radio set with antenna, 05 IED timer devices, 05 switches, 02 Cartridges, and 1 bore gun (damaged)
Sources said that the dump of arms was rusted and was believed to be an old store of some militant group. Police has registered a case in this regard.
