| Sandeep kour, an artist in making, dreams to become Jammu Idol-2007 | | |

Sandeep Kour, a doctor by profession, has a cherished desire to acclaim the title of Jammu Idol-2007. To achieve this goal, Dr Kour has been burning her mid night oil and working hard. She is currently participating in the program of the ‘Talent Club’
In pursuit of her desire, Dr Kour has already participated in number of competitions/ shows not only within the state but outside including Punjab where she took part in ‘ The Superstar- 2006’ held at Chandigarh last year, ‘Miss World Punjaban- 2006’ at Ludhiana and many other events.
Born at RS Pura, known as the ‘rice bowl’, Sandeep did her early schooling in her home town and later shifted to the winter capital to pursue her further studies. In the year 2001, she was selected for MBBS and went to Karnataka for pursuing her MBBS course Along with studies, she continued to participate in different cultural programs and brought laurels to the state.
A talented singer, dancer and a doctor by profession, Kour shared her experience with Early Times correspondent. Here are some of the excerpts of the interview.
E.T: Tell us something about yourself and what is your ambition?
Sandeep: Right from my childhood, I was interested in singing, dancing, modeling regretting that in Jammu and Kashmir people don’t encourage their wards to take part in such events. But, I took the challenge, despite opposition from my family members, because I wanted to see myself on top of the world and bring laurels not only for myself, my family, my village but for the entire state as a whole. With this ambition, I am moving forward, she asserted. .
E.T: Did your family members support you in this endeavor?
Sandeep: Initially, they were not supportive but with the passage of the time, they started cooperating and gave all possible help to my mission and today with the blessings of the ‘God’ and of my family members, I was able to show my talent by participating in number of competitions.
E.T.: You are doctor by profession comment?
Sandeep: Yes, I am a doctor by profession and in this month I will complete my internship. In the year 2001, I was selected for M.B.B.S. and pursued my course in Karnataka and is presently doing internship at Amritsar. I am happy that I can serve the people in both ways.
E.T.: What are your future plans?
Sandeep: Right now I am working with Pawan Sharma, director Talent Club which is shortly organizing a mega event “Jammu Idol -2007. I am working under his direction and am optimistic to win this coveted title. Earlier also, I have participated in Miss World Punjaban at Ludhiana , Punjab the Superstar at Chandigarh, and also participated in stage show, ‘Royal Rainbow’ in Punjab . Dancing is my favorite subject .I want to be at the top. In recognition of my performance, the ETC Punjabi channel conferred on her the Miss World Punjaban title in which thousands of girl participants from USA, Australia, Canada and other parts of India participated.
E.T; Any message you want to convey?
Sandeep: well, my message to the people of Jammu is to encourage and support to their wards in their fields so that they can achieve their cherished dreams and there is no dearth of talent in Jammu, it only needs the proper plate form and the day is not far away when rest of India will start recognizing our people.
