| Passengers demand railway sheds on Jammu Udhampur route | | |
Jammu, June 26, Large number of railway passengers traveling between Jammu and Udhampur have raised a demand for expediting the work on the construction of the railway sheds at various railway stations along the 54 km track. On Tuesday, these railway passengers faced tough time as pre-monsoon showers drenched them completely in the absence of sheds at different railway platforms. “We are traveling on the route for over two years now but no railway shed is constructed as yet,Railway passengers said expressing their desire for early construction of the sheds.In the absence of the sheds the passengers struggle to find a corner or shade under the branches of tree or main railway entrance gates leaving them at the mercy of weather gods during peak summer and rainy season. It may be mentioned that railway stations at Bajalata, Sanger, Manwal and Ramnagar donot have railway sheds and often passengers face hardships .”We donot undertand why railways are delaying the construction of the sheds when they know that the same railway line is going to witness heavy passengers traffic after the opening of the railway link between Jammu and Katra”,a regular passenger Rajesh Gupta who travels daily on the route said
