| CBI presents charge-sheet against Sr. Auditor of Defence Accounts | | |
JAMMU, JUNE 26- Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) presented challan in trap case against Sr. Auditor of Defence Account, who was caught red-handed by a team of CBI headed by KL Raina Additional SP of CBI/ACB Jammu, while accepting Rs 1700 as bribe from the complainant.
According to the challan, one Surinder Sharma, Proprietor of a firm situated at Gandhi Nagar, Jammu , alleged that Khem Singh Sr. Auditor CDA Satwari demanded Rs 1700 as illegal gratification as commission for the four bills of Rs 34 12, already passed and payment released by CDA. It was further alleged that in case of non-payment, the further bill of the complainant would not be cleared by CDA in time.
The CBI, on this complaint, got verified the illegal gratification and asked the complainant to take Khem Singh on his mobile. The conversation was got recorded and copied on CD. Upon this, case was registered and a trap team headed by the Additional SP CBI conducted a raid on March 9 last and caught red-handed Khem Singh Sr. Auditor and recovered bribe money from him. After completion of the investigation of the case, CBI presented challan in the Court of Special Judge Anticorruption Jammu u/s 161 RPC and section 5(2) r/w 5(1) (e) J&K PC Act 2006 against accused Khem Singh Sr. Auditor CDA Satwari Jammu
