| What's wrong at Abdullah Mansions? | | Omar's guard attempts suicide | |
Jammu, June 27: It is a matter of co-incidence or something else which the father-son duo of Farooq and Omar Abbdullah can explain. A year after fire-arm squabble at residence of former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah, today Omar's guard at his Delhi residence trained service gun at himself in a bid to end his life. Reports reaching here said, an Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) trooper posted at Jammu and Kashmir National Conference chief Omar Abdullah's 7 Akbar Road residence allegedly attempted suicide Wednesday morning, police said. Head Constable Sehdev Singh, 35, shot himself with his service rifle at around 11.30 a.m. inside the house, the police said. Sehdev Singh, who hails from Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh, was posted at the MP's house since June 2. Police said Sehdev received a bullet injury on his left shoulder and was rushed to the Ram Manohar Lohia hospital where he is recuperating. 'Initial investigation suggests he was tense over his transfer. We are probing the matter,' a police official said. It may be recalled that last year, the New Delhi official residence of former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah was gripped in panic after a shoot out. Later it was learnt that his guards on duty after a squabble with each other had open fire. Two of them were injured in the incident. Farooq was however in Delhi at that time.
