| Jacob begins with business | | | Jammu, June 27: After his appointment as new incharge of the organisation affairs of the Jammu and Kashmir unit of Congress, the newly inducted member in the power AICC Central Working Committee, MM Jacob today formally kick-started his business from Srinagar. The former Governor and senior Congress leader, MM Jacob who replaced Ambika Soni as AICC incharge of Jammu and Kashmir today made his first official visit to the state. On his visit to Srinagar, Jacob called on Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad. He discussed issues pertaining to election of President of India and matters relating to the Congress Party and political situation. Jacob also interacted with senior state Congress leaders and discussed the issue of election of President of India, said an official spokesman. When asked for his reaction on Jacob's appointment as new incharge of Jammu and Kashmir Congress, a senior party leader said, "he seems to be serious with the business and many pending issues are expected to be resolved with a full time incharge". He added, his seriousness can be gauged from the fact that in just little over a week after his appointment as incharge of J&K affairs he is here in the state to take stock of situation". Sources said that Jacob is not likely to interfere in the organisational matters of Jammu and Kashmir till the presidential elections are over. It is learnt that he did not comment on the internal matters when the state Congress leaders visiting him shared their concerns on a variety of organisation issues.
