Army driver found dead another attempts suicide

Jammu, June 27
Body of an Army jawan posted in army's service core unit in Northern command was found under mysterious circumstances in Bari Brahamna cantonment area , while another security jawan posted at the Delhi official residence of National conference president, Omar Abdullah, attempted suicide by shooting himself, this morning.

Sources disclosed that an army driver was found dead under suspicious circumstances inside the cabin of his vehicle, adding that a suicide note was also reportedly recovered from the site.
Identified as Sepoy Driver (MT) Shyam Lal of Rajasthan posted with 5131 ASC of Northern command had reached here from Srinagar with routine convoy late last night.
He was supposed to move for his onward journey from Bari Brahamna army cantonment this morning at around 6.30 am when his body was seen laying in pool of blood.
The police have recovered a suicidal note and his service weapon which was being examined by the experts.
The suicidal note, sources said reads as under 'I had an accident with a Matadar and the driver was killed' which forced me to take such an extreme step. But smelling some foul play the police has seized his service weapon also and taken the body for postmortem in government medical college Jammu, details of which were awaited.
Police has registered a case in this regard and taken up the investigations
Defence spokesman, Col Goswami said that a court of inquiry has been ordered into the matter.
Meanwhile, another security jawan posted at the Delhi official residence of National conference president, Omar Abdullah, attempted suicide by shooting himself, this morning.
Informed sources told News Agency of Kashmir, that the jawan had some domestic problem and had recently returned from his home after spending about a month today morning made an attempt to end his life.
Sources said the jawan was posted at NC presidents Delhi residence at 7 Akbar Road made an un-successful attempt to commit suicide, however he was immediately shifted to Hospital where he was being treated and the doctors attending him termed his injuries as minor.
The distress killings among security forces are increasing day by day and authorities failed to find out the root cause of this extreme step being taken by jawans particularly posted in the militancy infested states.
According to Sources, Police has reportedly registered a case and has recorded the statements of his collogues. The police was told that the jawan was under stress from the last one week.
