Pak misleading world opinion over ‘Kashmir issue’: Gupta
6/27/2007 11:40:58 PM

Jammu | June 27
Former Union Minister of State and senior BJP leader Prof Chaman Lal Gupta has accused Pakistan for breeding religious terrorism and indulging in various forms of campaigns to mislead the world opinion over the so-called Kashmir issue.
Addressing a gathering of party activists at Railway station here who had come to greet him on his return from London, Prof Gupta said that during his stay at UK and other places he observed that Pakistan was indulging in various campaigns to mislead the world opinion over the ‘so called Kashmir issue’. The fact remains that there was growing feeling everywhere that Pakistan has become a hub of terrorism and this religious terrorism was a great menace for world peace and humanity, he added.
Regretting that New Delhi is failing to cash this situation and impress upon Pakistani rulers to stop this non-sense and learn to live like peaceful neighbours, Prof Gupta said that Congress led UPA coalition has failed to force the Pakistani rulers to carry the commitment made during NDA government that no cross terror would be allowed from the soil under their control.
Referring to Jammu and Kashmir, BJP leader said the confusing policies being perused by the Centre and that of the coalition partners of the State, are leading to a situation fraught with dangerous potentialities. He was highly critical of the coalition leaders of the state and said they are trying to malign the forces fighting the proxy war and thus, playing a dangerous role especially when there is no let up in the designs of the enemy.
While paying rich tributes to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookherjee, he said that the situation would not have taken such an ugly turn if the clear cut approach had been adopted by the Congress and their allies as was advocated by this great son of soil who sacrificed his life for cause of the country.
Among others present at the Railway Station were former, Mayor JMC, Kavinder Gupta, Mandal Presidents, Jagdish Sapolia and several councilors
