| HC stays proceedings against Inspector Chanchal Singh | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 6: In a petition filed by Inspector Chanchal Singh & others seeking quashment complaint filed by Ranjodh Singh alias Nalwa against them before Sub-Judge Court Jammu, Justice Tashi Rabstan issued notice returnable within four weeks and in the meanwhile ordered that subject to objections from other side and till next date before the Bench, proceedings before Trial Court in case Ranjodh Singh Vs Inspector Chanchal Singh and another shall remain stayed. In a petition filed by Inspector Chanchal Singh & other seeking quashment complaint filed by Ranjodh Singh alias Nalwa against them before Sub-Judge Court Jammu whereby cognizane of offence u/s 341/325/506 RPC has been taken by the Trial Court and process has been issued. The petitioner Chanchal Singh was serving as SHO Bahu Fort and Inayat Ali SI was posted as Incharge PP Narwal in the month of April 2014 and on April 15, 2014 respondent Ranjodh Singh along with few persons attempted a murderous attack on one Surinder Singh alias Kala at Sabzi Mandi Narwal where a scuffle took place between Surinder Singh and others. The police personal on duty around the area came on spot and caught hold three accused including Ranjodh Singh and FIR NO 78/2014 was registered u/s 307/452/382/147/148/323 RPC and 4/25 Arms Act and respondent was arrested. Later respondent was release after grant of bail by the Court while on District Magistrate Jammu ordered detention of respondent Ranjodh Singh alias Nalwa under PSA and after some time the respondent filed a complaint against the petitioners that he was illegally detained by the petitioner on April 15, 2014 without mentioning the FIR which is pending before the Sub-Judge Jammu and seeking quashment of the same. |
