| ‘Agitating ITI diploma holders threaten to lock out ITIs | | Govt. sabotaging peaceful protest, alleges Sharma | | Jammu June 28— The agitating unemployed ITI diploma holders today threatened to lock out all the Industrial Training Institutes in the State as there is no fun for running these and incurring huge expenditure on these. When the diploma holders who are trained in these institutes are not getting jobs what is the fun of running these institutes, alleged Chairman of the Association of the Unemployed Diploma Engineers, Rakesh Sharma, at a press conference here today. He said the government was also trying to sabotage the on going strike of the unemployed diploma holders that entered the 81st day here today. The agitating diploma holders are demanding adjustment on Rehbar pattern in the Electric Department. Sharma criticized the government for registering a fictitious case against him and even issuing arrest warrants. He said while those who have been openly indulging in anti-national activities and raising anti India slogans are left Scot free and those peacefully protesting for their rights are being implicated in false cases Referring to the problems of the protestors, he said that government has failed to provide jobs to the diploma holders for the last 28 years and no fresh posts are created to absorb them.. Sharma also announced that the association is going to shut down all ITI of state, as there is no need to run these because of the fact that the pass outs have no scope of getting jobs Regretting that government is non serious to the issue, the Association Chairman alleged that government is only concerned about the rehabilitation of militants and their harbors whose kiths and kin are easily provided jobs in government departments according to their wishes and whims.
