| BJP lashes Congress led government of its failure in fulfilling promises | | | Jammu June 29 BJP State President Ashok Khajuria today took Congress led coalition government in the state to task for its failure in fulfilling its promises made to the people during the last Assembly elections and come up to the expectations of the common masses. Addressing a rally at Ramban organized by the district unit of the party, Khajuria said the people who voted in favour of and returned maximum Congressmen from Jammu region to the state assembly during the last elections are feeling betrayed now. These people, who were lured by the promises of development, employment, security, corruption free administration, ending discrimination with Jammu, are waiting for the day when they would teach their representatives a lesson. Instead of the government being- of the people, for the people and by the people, the present coalition has turned it into the government “of few selected people’ who have least concern for the common masses, their needs, their problems and their welfare and are busy in making money, constructing palatial bungalows and leading lives of no less than that of Maharajas at the cost of public exchequer. For these “few select people” there is no financial crunch. On the other hand, the government comes out with excuses of financial crunch when common masses demand regular employment, development or removal of some immediate problems. Ashok Khajuria further said that the people are not getting water for days together, long power cuts are imposed, highly educated youth are sitting on hunger strikes demanding jobs, lakhs of refugees are denied citizenship rights, people complaint of inadequate health care facilities and the State Chief Minister proclaims of Khushaal Kashmir. The BJP Chief said that time has come for the people of the state, more particularly that of Jammu region, to teach a lesson to the present ruling combine and ensure the victory of BJP which has been all along been fighting for the equal treatment to all the three regions of the state. He stated that the BJP will win more than 20 seats in the next assembly elections and shall provide first Hindu Chief Minister to the state. BJP State General Secretary and ex-MLA Bali Bhagat, on this occasion, charged the government of repeatedly ignoring Ramban in all the developmental activities. He said this is clear from the poor condition of roads, poor health facilities, non availability of basic amenities etc. Although Ramban has been declared District but unfortunately it still lacks the required infrastructure, he added and demanded special attention towards this neglected district which is spread over a large area. District President Shyam Singh Katoch, General Secretary Ramesh Sharma, Mandal President Shashi Pal Goswami, Yog Raj, BJYM District President Omkar Singh and senior leader Om Parkash Gupta were among those who also addressed the rally. Earlier, on his arrival at Ramban Khajuria was accorded a warm welcome by the party activists, says a party handout.
