Early Times Report

Jammu, June 14: A commander-level flag meeting was held on Sunday between India's BSF and Pakistan Rangers to discuss arrangements for the forthcoming festival at the shrine of Sufi saint Baba Chamliyal.
The flag meeting was held at 9.15 a.m. on the international border in Jammu district, a police officer said here.
Commander of the Border Security Force's 200 battalion, Sukhdev Raj, and the commander of the 12th battalion of Chenab Rangers, Muhammad Ali attended the flag meeting that lasted for an hour.
The agenda of the flag meeting was to discuss preparations for the upcoming Baba Chamliyal Mela on June 25, the police official said.
The festival at the shrine is celebrated in memory of Baba Dalip Singh Manhas every year in June in Chamliyal village on the India-Pakistan border in Samba district, 40 km from Jammu city. The unique feature of this mela is that Baba Chamliyal is revered by people on both sides of the border. People of all religions throng the shrine during the festival.
