| Vigilance books CAPD official | | | Jammu | June 30 State Vigilance Organization today booked a storekeeper of CAPD under the charges of being involved in corrupt practices and also registered a case against him. According to reports, the state vigilance has registered a case under relevant provision of Prevention of Corruption Act against Tariq Ahmed Genie, storekeeper in CAPD department Batote for acquiring assets worth Rs 50 lakh by indulging in corrupt practices which are apparently disproportionate to his known sources of income. Verification conducted by the SVO regarding allegations against Tariq it was revealed that he has constructed a three storied house with two shops at mohalla Havili Nagar Bhadrwah besides raised two more stories over his ancestral house. He has also constructed another residential house at Janipur Jammu. The official has also purchased a truck, a mini bus and an Alto car in his own name and in the name of his family members, the value of the property acquired by the official is estimated to be worth his known sources of income over Rs 50 lakh. The property acquired by the official is apparently dispropriationate to. Case FIR no 18/2007 police station VOJ has been registered and investigation taken up. In the course of investigation vigilance officials have conducted search of his residential premises of the accused official.
