| 5 cops injured in encounter | | |

Five police personal today got serious injuries in an encounter at Kulhand area in Doda and two of them were shifted to Government Medical College Jammu for treatment. According to reports, today after receiving specific information of some militant hiding in Kulhand area, a police party swung into action and cordon the area and asked militants to surrender. However the militant in reply opened indiscriminate firing in which five police personal got serious injuries. The encounter was on in the area as last report came and later army also joined the encounter. Sources said a group of six ultras were hiding in the area and during encounter three of them managed to flee from the spot and other three were holed up by police. The injured police personal were identified as constable Ramesh Kumar, SPO Om Parkash, SPO Vishaw Mohand, SPO Som Nath and Constable Ajeet got serious injuries later the Ramesh Kumar were shifted to GMC.
